Wellness Examinations & Vaccinations
An Annual Wellness Exam gives us the chance to evaluate your pet's overall health and to detect problems before they turn into serious illnesses. Because your pet can't tell you in words how he or she is feeling, we must rely on a thorough physical examination and your observations of your pet in order to determine if your pet is truly healthy and identify any underlying medical concerns. Our veterinarian will ask you specific questions and examine the following areas to assess your pets overall health:
- Temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and body weight

- Ears and eyes
- Gums, teeth, tongue, and palate
- Listen to the heart and lungs
- Reproductive system
- Condition of the skin and hair
- Abdominal palpation
- Legs and feet
- Condition of joints, muscles, lymph nodes, and nose
In addition to the Annual Health Exam, your veterinarian will review your pet’s vaccination history and through a careful risk assessment, will booster any required vaccinations at that time.
Because your pet ages more quickly than you do, it is essential that you take your pet to the veterinarian at least once a year and even more frequently as your pet gets older. Your Kingsdale veterinarian will recommend an appropriate examination schedule for your pet.
